Hi Ho! It's already Week 3. Shockingly, I find myself undefeated. We shall see when my luck runs out. We have a couple of good matchups and a couple of blowouts predicted for this week. It's been an atypical season so far with the stud wide receivers outperforming the stud running backs. No-name quarterbacks have been leading the way on everyone's bench and the waiver wire. Let's get ready to put ourselves through another brutal week of fantasy football where the highs are never as high as the lows are low. Onto the predictions.

Kermit the Kommissioner (James) vs Dr. Honeydew (Travis)

ree

The #1 team vs the #12 team. Should be an easy win for the Kommish, right? Wrong. I've benefitted from some outlier performances in the first two weeks. This week, my team regresses back to the norm. It's the law of probability. If you roll two dice, how often will you roll doubles sixes? That's pretty much what I've done to open the season. I'm due to roll snake eyes versus Travis. Javonte Williams's snap share increased to 65% vs MG3's 32%. That spells doom for MG3 moving forward and a huge bump for Travis' team. Kupp hasn't slowed down one bit since his record-breaking season last year. He is going to go bonkers versus the Cardinals' secondary. The Stafford/Kupp stack is going to stick it to me in Week 3.

My team is desperate at RB. You know your RBs suck when you are excited about getting Pollard off the waiver wire. He's going direct to my lineup even if Penny has a good matchup versus the Falcons. I can't trust Penny in the 3-headed committee on a low volume low production offense. If I am going to stay competitive in this matchup, I will need my power WR group to come through again. That's a big ask with Kirk facing the Chargers D and Diggs facing the Miami D. I do expect Jefferson to rebound nicely against the Lions, though. It's still TBD if I can switch Kirk for Pittman vs the Chiefs.

Prediction: Dr. Honeydew gets off the snide

Gonzo the Great (Justin) vs Animal (Paul)

ree

It's going to be an epic matchup between the top two teams in Beards even if the records don't show it, yet. Paul's team is going to be tough to beat as long as Brian Robinson is recovering. Following the logic that Dillon and Jones alternate each week on who will have the greater points output, this week it is Dillon's turn. Conner has a twisted ankle but he will be fine to get his full workload. It's a tougher matchup this week, but I like him to get a red zone TD. Miami's D is good, but Josh Allen is better. Kelce is going to feast against the Colts.

Rodgers may own the Bears, but the Bucs D is going to own Rodgers. JT really needs Pittman back to help open up the Colts' offense. The Chiefs D line will shut him down if he is the only offensive threat on the field. Aiyuk gets a bump with Jimmy G now back at QB. If Joe Mixon can't get it going against the Jets, then it's going to be a long season for the Bungles. Justin is going to have another good points week, but Paul's upside is greater.

Prediction: Animal wins in a close matchup

Miss Piggy (Dana) vs Scooter (Gary)

ree

It's a get-well week for Dana after she posted a low score in Week 2. This week she gets to face Gary's gaunt lineup. Gesicki is going to goose against the Bills. There is hope Kittle could return this week. Say a prayer, Gary. Thielen has shown this season that he is old and busted. Boyd has a good matchup but he is the #4 option on his offense. The only difference maker Gary has is Mahomes who has an easy matchup vs the Colts D. His only hope is that this week JuJu gets the targets.

Dana was able to grab Jimmy G to replace Lance, but Mariota is probably the better option. Not great, but there isn't much on the waiver wire. Davante Adams should be bound back since Cousins isn't in prime time this week. Higgins should find the endzone against the Jets. Drake London has emerged and will continue to dominate targets with Mariota. Dana should start the bargain basement Mariota/London stack. The loser of this matchup will probably earn the Poopsie award.

Prediction: Miss Piggy pushes past Scooter

Oscar the Grouch (Tracy) vs Fozzie Bear (David)

ree

David's team is a joke, but he's not laughing. The only thing Russell Wilson is riding is an old hag mule. On the positive side, Fournette should run down the throat of GB. With Jeudy injured, Sutton should be the beneficiary of the additional targets like Diggs was without Davis. Unfortunately, the Broncos' offense is nowhere near the Bills' O for opportunities. That's about it for the positives.

I like Pittman, but I am kicking myself for not believing in Amon-Ra St. Brown. My anti-Lions bias is hard to overcome. If Dalvin can't cook against the Lions D, then the alarms should go off. I think Cook will be fine. Mandrews is in another good spot against the Patriots. This matchup comes down to Tracy's superiority at the TE position.

Prediction: Fozzie's team fizzle against the Trashman

BoBo the Bear (Steve) vs Abby (Ashlyn)

ree

Steve took a tough loss last week. This week he faces his niece in her first year playing fantasy football. Uncle Steve has the advantage at just about every position, except QB and WR1. There is some concern for Herbert and his ribs. He should play, but we will see how effective he is or if they go to a more conservative game plan against the Jags. If any coach can contain Lamar it's Belichick. Overall QB1 numbers are not going to happen against a Belichick defense. I still give Ashlyn the edge at QB simply because Herbert is hurt. The Bengals should have a get-right game versus the Jets D. It's time for Chase to show that he belongs in the Top 5 fantasy WR discussion after a very disappointing Week 2 performance. Steve has the advantage at RB with Chubb being far more consistent in producing double-digit points than Hunt. Ashlyn is also hurt by Evans getting suspended for throwing haymakers. She'll need Robinson to have another good game to keep this matchup close.

Prediction: BoBo bounces back for a second win

Janice (Linda) vs Elmo (Jordan)

ree

This is truly David vs Goliath matchup. Linda can't win even when Waddle scores 40+. No chance she wins when he doesn't. Her starters are weak and her bench is weaker. It's going to be pretty easy for Jordan to be the last man undefeated team in the League this season. His lineup has a lot of tough matchups, but the schedule has been kind to allow him to play Linda this week. CMC faces the tough NO run defense. Tyreek faces the tough Bills defense. I'm not sure Tua is going to have the time to find his WRs. Murray faces Aaron Donald. If Pitts can't produce against the Seahawks, we can officially call him a bust as the #3 TE took this year. I think he breaks out and allays the fears of his fantasy owners.

Prediction: Elmo eviscerates Janice
