Kommissioner's Korner - Week 8

Hi Ho! Onward we go. Jordan is primed to have the best record in League history held by Tracy at 13-3. Jordan and Tracy face off in a matchup between the top two contenders. Dana finds herself buried in the basement after her 6th straight loss. Another record could be in jeopardy. Most losses in a season (13) by multiple teams. The way injuries have continued to pile up things can change quickly. Last week I went 4-2 on my predictions. Linda keeps messing up my numbers.

Kermit the Kommissioner (James) vs BoBo the Bear (Steve)

The annual battle of the bros. My brother isn't feeling confident this week with the Chargers on bye. He should be used to being beaten by me since I've won 6 out of 8 matchups to date. Steve gets a boost with Swift finally returning. Chubb is getting all the touches with Kareem being an afterthought. Cousins has a good matchup vs the Cardinals D. I have JJ so at least that negates Cousins. Goedert versus the Steelers could get ugly for me. It's an advantage Steve has over my Schultz. I need Lamar to end his four-game slump on TNF. That will depend on the health of Andrews and Bateman. If Lamar sucks again, Steve can definitely pull off an upset. I'm tempted to pull a reverse jinx prediction, but I am going to show confidence that my lineup is strong enough to overcome my own jinx.

Prediction: Salty Steve stays sour after another loss to his little bro.

Dr. Honeydew (Travis) vs Abby (Ashlyn)

Travis needs to grab a kicker for this week. It will be interesting to see who he decides to drop. This matchup is close. As of now, Zeke is projected to play. That could change quickly. Whether he does or not could be the deciding factor. Kupp has 30 point upside versus the 49ers, but Gallup is anyone's guess after the goose egg last week. Ashlyn needs GB to continue to run their offense through Aaron Jones. Hurts has an excellent matchup vs the Steelers, but half of Jalen's targets will go to Travis' DeVonta Smith. Pittman has a new QB, so the volume most likely decreases limiting Pitty City's upside. Hopefully, Evans doesn't drop another easy TD. Ashlyn cannot afford it.

Prediction: Ashlyn tops Travis to extend her lead over Steve.

Scooter (Gary) vs Animal (Paul)

This is going to be the easiest prediction of the week. Gary has all of his studs on bye. No Ekeler. No Chiefs. He is left with Jared Barf at QB. With no one on his bench left available, he is forced to go TE in his flex. That is not good even if Gesicki is running more routes lately. On the flip side, Paul gets Josh Allen back from the bye. DJ Moore has come back from the dead with the QB change in Carolina. Paul has some tough lineup decisions between Eno/Conner and Gibson. Whoever he picks will be wrong but it won't matter.

Prediction: Paul pounces on the opportunity to keep pace with the Kommissioner

Gonzo the Great (Justin) vs Miss Piggy (Dana)

Things don't get easier for Dana. This week she faces Justin. She's going to have to hold her nose and divert her eyes again. She is reduced to trying to build a good enough team to win in Week 15 to avoid the Crapper bowl. It's hard to see where she is going to get another win. Justin could use an easy week to stay close to Paul and me in the Beards division. Lockett should have little competition for targets with DK out, but the flip side is there is no other receiving threat so he could be doubled or Seattle could just run all day with Walker. Justin is hoping Mariota can run for some points since they don't throw in Atlanta. JT still isn't his old self. Justin's strength is his K and DST. The Bills face a struggling Packers and Carlson has been money all season. Points are going to be hard to come by for both sides in this matchup.

Prediction: Dana's despair deepens after 7th straight loss

Oscar the Grouch (Tracy) vs Elmo (Jordan)

Game of the week. #1 vs #2 faceoff. Both are at full strength. Unfortunately, the gap between #1 and #2 is quite significant. Amon and Cooks just don't compare with Tyreek and Hopkins. If Tracy hopes to keep this game close he needs Mandrews to come up huge since Jordan is still rolling with Pitts. Jordan doesn't have many weaknesses on his team, but TE is the one he does have. As long as Tua can avoid getting concussed again, he will be a solid QB and great for the Tua/Tyreek stack. Every week, Jordan is a threat for a high score. This week he is again the favorite.

Prediction: Tracy takes a step back after the loss

Fozzy the Bear (David) vs Janice (Linda)

Linda used to be an easy win, but she has been bucking the trend for the past two weeks. this week she returns to her losing ways facing David's strong squad even without Breece Hall for the rest of the season. Burrow should continue to rock and roll versus the Browns. This means Linda has hope for another 100+ point week. David gets Diggs back which is huge. Etienne gets a huge boost with Robinson being traded. Sutton is hoping Russell returns which it sounds like he will. One player David needs to keep an eye on is Lazard. Lazard has a shoulder injury that could cause him to miss a game or two, but Foreman can fill his flex.

Prediction: David dunks on Linda
